Fatboy McKnights Brown #8

The Fatboy McKnights in brown is a bulky hopper dry fly pattern. The wide, buoyant body floats high and pushes a wake that draws aggressive strikes from trout hunting hoppers.

Fish it on a dead drift along grassy banks in late summer, or skate it gently to imitate a kicking hopper.

When fish short-strike, resist the urge to set too soon; let the trout turn with the fly before lifting the rod.
