Tenkara Pheasant Tail #17

A dry fly pattern dressed in mottled pheasant-tail tones, made for tenkara-style presentation. The understated brown coloring suggests a range of small mayflies without imitating one specifically.

Fish it on a dead drift with a tenkara rod or a standard fly rod the simple profile works anywhere small dries draw rises.

Fish the hatch, not the clock: watch the water for noses before casting, and place the fly a few feet above each rise for the most natural drift.
