Westin Monsterfly 22cm 44g Gold Rain

Westin Monsterfly 22cm 44g Gold Rain Versatile pike lure for shallow and deep presentations

The Westin Monsterfly 22cm 44g Gold Rain is a distinctive predator lure designed to create strong water disturbance, flash and movement when more conventional lures are being ignored. Its oversized ABS head features a golf-ball style surface that pushes water, producing turbulence and bubbles, while the combination of bucktail, wide flash tinsel, rubber skirts and synthetic fibres creates a large, lively profile without excessive hook tangling.

The Monsterfly can be fished straight from the pack on spinning or baitcasting tackle. Work it slowly through shallow bays, weed edges and margins, or attach a switch weight to the additional eyelet to reach deeper water and increase retrieve speed. Heavier weighting also allows the lure to be worked around drop-offs, making it adaptable to varying depth, wind and water conditions encountered on Irish lakes and rivers.

Why It Works for Irish Anglers

Pike anglers frequently need to change depth and presentation as fish move between shallow weed beds, open water and deeper drop-offs. The Monsterfly can be fished slowly near the surface or weighted down when predators are holding deeper, while its large profile and water displacement help fish locate it in coloured water or lower visibility.

The Gold Rain finish combines flash with a highly visible silhouette, while the skirted construction continues to move at slow retrieve speeds. This makes the lure particularly useful when pike are following conventional hardbaits or soft plastics without committing.

Perfect For

• Pike fishing on lakes, rivers and canals
• Working shallow bays and weed edges
• Fishing deeper drop-offs with additional weight
• Slow presentations for cautious pike
• Spinning and baitcasting setups
• Anglers looking for an alternative to conventional soft and hard lures
