Superior Spruce Moth Grillos #14

A spruce moth dry fly pattern in the Grillos style. Spruce moth adults flutter on the surface during summer hatches on forested streams, drawing aggressive rises.

Fish it on a dead drift with an occasional skate during spruce moth activity, typically toward evening.

Fish it on a stout enough tippet to turn the fly over in the wind, since the best terrestrial fishing often happens on the breeziest afternoons.
