Gaffney’s Salmonfly Fluttering Stone #4

Gaffney’s Fluttering Stone from Rainy’s imitates an adult Salmonfly with outstretched, fluttering wings. The #4 sizing matches the naturals’ impressive bulk among the largest dry flies trout regularly eat.

Fish it tight to the banks during the Salmonfly hatch with an occasional twitch to suggest a struggling adult.

Focus your casts on the shady bank and under overhanging branches, where stoneflies crawl out and trout wait below for the stragglers.
