Now firmly established as a staple lure, the “Gary Yamamoto Fat Ika” is best known for its bulky body. Combined with Garys original high-density material, the lure alone weighs an impressive 12 grams.
The most common rigging method for the Fat Ika is reverse rigging without a weight (weightless reverse rig). This setup enables the signature backslide fall action that defines the Fat Ika. It provides a clear advantage when targeting undercut or hard-to-reach spots where typical lures cant easily approach. After the lure hits the water, its key to maintain a line tension that is neither tight nor slack as you let it fall.
The weight may vary slightly depending on the color.
