Thunder Grass Hopper Mcknight Tan #10

Umpqua’s Thunder Grass Hopper in McKnight tan is a grasshopper dry fly. The tan coloring matches natural hoppers found along Western rivers in late summer.

Fish it on a dead drift along grassy banks, with an occasional twitch to suggest a struggling hopper.

Don’t overlook the middle of the river on breezy days windblown terrestrials drift far from shore, and trout cruise the lanes looking for them.
