Westin Jerkbite DR 11cm 15g Real Hot Roach

Westin Jerkbite DR 11cm 15g Real Hot Roach Deep suspending jerkbait for pike and perch

The Westin Jerkbite DR 11cm 15g Real Hot Roach is a deep-running suspending jerkbait designed to reach predators holding well below the surface. Its slim baitfish profile, detailed Real Hot Roach finish and sharp darting action make it particularly effective when pike or perch are following prey around deeper structure but need an erratic presentation to trigger a strike.

Fish the Jerkbite DR with short, aggressive twitches when predators are active, or increase the pause length in colder water when fish are less willing to chase. The lure runs at approximately 45m and suspends during the pause, keeping it in the strike zone. An integrated long-cast system shifts two steel balls into the tail during casting for extra distance and accuracy before they settle back into the belly on the retrieve. It can also be fished on a steady retrieve when a smoother presentation is required.

Why It Works for Irish Anglers

On deeper lakes, canals and slow river sections, pike and perch can hold around drop-offs, submerged structure or below baitfish shoals. The 45m running depth helps reach these zones, while the suspending action allows the lure to pause directly in front of following fish. The brighter Real Hot Roach pattern also provides extra visibility when water clarity is reduced or light levels are poor.

• Pike lure fishing
• Perch fishing
• Deep-water jerkbait and twitchbait techniques
