Daniel’s Tan Hegan Ant #8

Daniel’s Tan Hegan Ant is a large ant dry fly pattern. At #8 it presents an oversized ant profile a bold meal that draws aggressive strikes during ant falls.

Fish it on a dead drift on warm, calm afternoons when flying ants are on the water.

Fish it on a stout enough tippet to turn the fly over in the wind, since the best terrestrial fishing often happens on the breeziest afternoons.
