Secret Sauce Hopper Tan #12

The Secret Sauce Hopper in tan is a grasshopper dry fly pattern. The natural tan coloring matches the hoppers trout see most often along grassy banks.

Fish it on a dead drift in late summer, letting it drift naturally tight to the bank.

Fish it on a stout enough tippet to turn the fly over in the wind, since the best terrestrial fishing often happens on the breeziest afternoons.
